The Ministry was reacting to a complaint forwarded by a group of workers demanding the lifting of a one-year ban their sponsor had slapped on them to prevent them from working in the country.

The sponsor imposed the ban and cancelled their labour cards because they asked him to place them as concrete work carpenters which they were brought to do.

He insisted on them working as helping hands with various chores.

Upon examining the complaint, the ministry found the workers were right and lifted the ban granting them the right to shift to another employer with the consent of the current sponsor.
