Winners of Khalifa Award for Education honoured

ABU DHABI - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan honoured today the winners of the fourth edition of the Khalifa Award for Education.

A total of 31 winners, including individuals and institutions from UAE and other Arab countries, received their prizes at a gala ceremony held at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Mansour, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Khalifa Award for Education, said in a speech that the philosophy and the concept of the award is inspired by the prudent educational vision of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the directives of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The prizes were given in nine different categories, which were won by individuals and educational institutions in the UAE and other countries across the Arab world.

Shaikh Mansour said that the Award will help to entrench the concepts of quality in education and a deepen the culture of competition in this field, will encourage workers in the fields of education and enrich the educational experiences and practices.

On the basis of its objectives to promote education, encourage outstanding educators and enhance innovative education practices, the Khalifa Award for Education is intended to discover successful individuals and educational practices at the local, regional and Arab world levels.

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Education Humaid Al Qatami, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs Ahmed Jumaa Al Zaabi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Education Council Dr Mugheer Al Khaili, other senior officials, educationists and a large number of individuals representing various educational institutions attended the ceremony.
