Some 12 tonnes of foodstuff unfit for human consumption was recently confiscated and destroyed following 6,000 inspection raids by the public health section of Kalbaa Municipality. Seized cosmetics proved to be carcinogenic. Medical reports showed that needles used to knock off pimples were likely to increase inflammation and the spread of communicable diseases.

As such, tougher penalties are to be enforced against callous and hard-headed violators. Their wickedness is way beyond cure. They must be banished but not before answering for their wrongdoings. Residents can contribute positively to such activism by reporting any violations that come to their notice.
