But a New York-based couple are actually running a dating website for cheaters and are insisting that their venture is a public service, intended to save marriages from breaking up!

AshleyMadison.com , the venture started by Noel and Amanda Biderman helps married people have affairs. “ [Cheating provides] people with an alternative to divorce. They find themselves in a sexless marriage, they’re caught between a rock and a hard place. For many, infidelity becomes that life preserver. It allows them to stay in a marriage, and focus on raising kids together, while pursuing something on the side,” Noel Biderman said recently.

Some 18 million people obviously believe this and have signed up for the website which goes with the legend, ““Life is short. Have an affair.”

We know America is all for free markets and a great incubator for innovative ideas. But this? Not happening. The Bidermans, incidentally, say they are a monogamous couple. Does not say much about their trust in their own business, does it?

Chicken in luxury nest

THIS BUSINESSMAN knows all about the chicken and hen situation that we all talk about but he does not let anything of that sort get in the way of creating an eggs nest for himself. With the population of livestock owners significantly going up, chicken-sitter Bill Bezuk, recently decided to get into the hotel business by setting up a luxury hotel for chickens, where they can have a relaxed stay and get pampered with fresh food, water and a safe place to sleep. For a couple of dollars extra, the chicken can also get treated to a “deluxe” service of organic food, fresh vegetable scraps and turndown service.

When a recession comes calling, all kinds of business ideas start blooming…

Zap that belly fat

IN ADDITION to the fact that it is not a nice shape to be and all that jazz, here is another reason why you have to get on that exercise schedule you have been putting off for a long time. News is now out that carrying excessive belly fat can actually damage your kidney which, experts say, can actually be weighed down by your girth.

A new study on the Netherlands is saying that apple-shaped people have poorer kidney function and also lower blood flow and higher blood pressure in the kidneys. Arjan Kwakernaak, who has published the study at the University Medical Centre Groningen, studied the waist-to-hip ratio (WHR), which ultimately measures the amount of body fat carried around the mid-section, of various patients. The group analysed the WHRs of 315 healthy individuals with an average body mass index (BMI) of 24.9 kg/m2 and studied health of their kidney too. The study revealed that those with higher WHRs had lower glomerular filtration rates (GFR) – the amount of liquids the kidneys can filter at any point. Ultimately, he relationship held true even for “WHR was associated with lower GFR, lower effective renal plasma flow, and higher filtration fraction, even after adjustment for sex, age, mean arterial pressure, and BMI,” the authors wrote.

So what are you waiting for? Go hit the gym or start walking. Take the weight of that kidney!
