Welfare trust in Pakistan

ABU DHABI — A welfare trust will be established in Islamabad, Pakistan, by Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

A Deed of Declaration of Trust was signed yesterday by Shaikh Nahyan at his Al Bateen Palace.

The trust, intended to cater to the orphans of the recent earthquake in Pakistan, will be established in the name of Shaikh Nahyan’s father Shaikh Mubarak bin Mohammed Al Nahyan. The other trustee from the UAE is Adel Ali Al Mahmood, General Manager, Dhabi Enterprises Est.

The rest of the five trustees are noted personalities from Pakistan, including Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, ex- prime minister of Pakistan and President of the ruling party, Lt. General (Retd) Javed Ashraf Qazi, Tariq Azim Khan, Senator, Bashir Ahmed Tahir, Adviser to Shaikh Nahyan, and Pervez Ahmed Shahid, Executive-in-charge of Bank Al Falah, Pakistan.
