The main flag-hoisting ceremony will be held at the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi at 8.30am tomorrow.
Pakistan Ambassador to the UAE Jamil Ahmad Khan will hoist the national flag in the presence of a large gathering of Pakistani community members, the embassy officials and their families. Messages from the president and prime minister of Pakistan will be read out during the function.
The ceremony will be followed by an open-house meeting of the community chaired by the ambassador.
Another flag-hoisting ceremony will be held in Dubai at 9am at the Consulate General of Pakistan. Consul-General Tariq Iqbal Soomro will unfurl the national flag in the presence of a large number of Pakistanis from all walks of life and the officials of the consulate and their families.
A number of other activities have been arranged by the Pakistani community residing in the UAE. Pakistan Association Dubai is undertaking week-long activities which include Meena Bazaar/Children’s Gala which started on Wednesday, Mushaira, Sports, Education Expo, Health Awareness Day and Clean the Environment campaign.
An exhibition of 30 paintings titled “Flowers” by famous painter Mona Naqsh will be held at DIFC Atrium from March 24 to 28.
Besides, the Pakistani schools in the UAE will also arrange special programmes to mark the National Day of their country.
