The web site, which took a year to complete, will be linked to the web site of the General Secretariat of the AGCC. The web site will contain all the information required for equating the certificates in each and every member-state, officials said. Students will be able to get their academic degrees equated in the UAE by visiting the web site, and without the need to report to the premises of the ministry.

The design of the web site will be demonstrated at the ninth meeting of the heads of committees of the equivalency of higher education certificates in the AGCC countries, which will open in Bahrain today.

The UAE is taking part in the meeting with a two-member delegation, comprising Dr Mohammed Abdullah Al Rokn, Head of the Certificates Equivalency Committee at the Ministry of Higher Education, and Saif Rashid Al Mazruwai, Departmental Director of Education and Certificates Equivalency Department at the ministry.

The two-day meeting will discuss a number of issues, including periodical reports of the committees, coordination and cooperation among the heads of panels, and the committee in-charge of distance learning. The meeting will discuss the coordination of stands towards recognising the degrees issued by foreign universities and institutions, the distinguished experiences, and the field tours conducted by the panels.
