These new features would simplify the process of buying and selling new and used cars available at more than 200 showrooms in the market.

Khalifa Hareb, Director of the department, said the new design of the web site is very different from the old one, which was launched three years ago. “The new site will provide easy access to all information related to the preferred cars of the visitor — be it new, used or imported from other countries,” he said.

There will be more space on the site for carrying more photographs of cars displayed in the market, which will ultimately give more choices to the visitor. There will be options for making comparisons between the chosen cars: their prices, types and years of manufacturing.

The visitor would be able to locate the showrooms by clicking on the link for maps of the showrooms in the market and send emails to a particular showroom, said Hareb.

The features also include the option for calculating the differences in the interest rates of car loans from banks and financial establishments.

The web site gives information on all services available in the Used Car Market such as names of all showrooms, the cars displayed there for sale with photographs, specifications and prices, auction service, insurance companies, technical tests, traffic police department services and driving school services, the official said.

It also provides a service called “Your Eyes on the Showroom,” through which the visitor can register on the site and select specifications of the preferred car. The visitor will be sent electronic messages instantly thanking for registration followed by information about the requested vehicle with its specifications and photographs to the visitor’s email address.

The Used Car Market was established by the municipality in 1999 with 130 showrooms.
