The exhibition which began on March 18 will continue till March 28 between 10 am to 10 pm.

Five International milliners — Walter Wright Ltd., Louise MacDonald, Valerie Corona, Marilena Romeo and Celine Robinson — offering headwear advice, display their latest collections for sale and also create custom-made headpieces, fascinators and other headwear accessories using a variety of materials.

Dubai-based designer Louise Harrison who specialises in creating sleeves, will also be displaying her new line of hair pieces.

Visitors at the exhibition excitedly tried on various colorful hats and fascinators decked with feathers, silk and satin material.

London-based designer, Philip Wright, whose family has been in the hat business for over 400 years, will also be a judge at the Dubai WorldCup Season.

“The inspiration from all of my designs, come from people” said Philip.

“All of these designs have been made exclusively for this exhibition, and I try my best to draw attention to a woman’s eyes while I make these hats,”added Philip.

Philip, who started to make hats, at a young age of five for pocket money, began making them professionally at the age of 21.

“The weather in Dubai is sunny, so women can experiment by wearing bright coloured hats. There is a lot of turquoise, purple, yellow, lavender and green. Wearing a hat is about self expression, it broadcasts what you feel. If you want to look loud, you dress loud. But if you want to have a slightly softer look, you use subtle colours for your hat,” added Philip.

Also participating at the exhibition is Dubai-based designer Louise Harrison whose sleeves are a new and fresh addition to Milliner accessories. “I love experimenting with fabrics and styles” said Louise.

As a trademark part of Louise’s designs all her sleeves are embroidered at the sleeves, wherein women can tie them at the wrists or untie them and wrap it around their arms like aPashmina shawl.

“A lot of my inspiration comes from the 1920s and 1930s styles, and my use of fabrics, feathers and materials are inspired from the same,” said Louise.

Louise’s fascinators range from Dh250 to Dh900 with each one of them being handmade.

All collections made by the designers are exclusive to the Milliner exhibition, and all of them are available for sale.
