A resident Halim Alqadi complained that last week water supply was affected in the old city for many hours daily. “The water shortage is still continuing. We have to look for water in the neighbourhood.”

For Um Rashid, a UAE national housewife, lack of water is a big problem especially in the morning. She said; “My children are suffering for many days. There is no water at all in the house. The children go to school without taking a shower.”

Arif Rahama, director of Al Nakheel Water Department for RAK, said the shortage was due to the maintenance work being carried out at the supply stations.
