The firemen rushed to the scene within a few minutes of the blaze and brought the fire under control at the entrance to the warehouse preventing it from spreading to the stored goods.

When the fire brigade arrived, the stores were locked and smoke was spewing out.

The firemen promptly broke open the door and started extinguishing fire inside the store where plastic, paper and other highly inflammable materials were stockpiled.

Upon a thorough investigation, it appeared that the warehouse was not put under guard and that the place lacked an alarm bell. Goods, it was further found, were randomly stacked up.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
