Indian automotive brand Mahindra continue to stand strong despite challenging times in the UAE automotive market, according to Axel Dreyer, Chief Executive Office - Automotive Division, Galadari Automobiles, who are exclusive regional distributors of the Indian brand. The proactive measures taken by the government further assisted in improving the market with an improvement in customer confidence.
"With Mahindra, in particular, we even experienced a very early recovery, especially from the commercial sector and we had very good demand for our Pik-Up range in the last three months. This trend is expected to continue since the construction industry is doing well. The demand on delivery of goods to the customer doorstep is also increasing," said Dreyer.
Galadari Automobiles focused on putting measures in place that would protect its staff and as well as customers.
"We were fast to act quickly and have strictly followed the directions from the authorities. Convenience for our customers during this difficult time was the other important factor so we offered pick and drop service for service for customers and also arranged test drives for new customers at the convenience of their homes," he added.

Product portfolio

This year, Galadari Automobiles is focusing on Pik-Up sales as customer demand is for robust commercial vehicles with a low cost of ownership.
Galadari Automobiles is now offering a Mahindra 4x4 Double Cabin Pik-Up with an Automatic Gearbox, combined with a powerful and efficient Turbo-Diesel engine for a price of Dh75,000.
"This car comes fully loaded with a lot of comfort features - this combination is unmatched. The Mahindra XUV500 is a strong and spacious contender in the popular mid-size SUV class that has a big fan base here in the UAE," he added.

A class apart from others

Mahindra is investing heavily in R&D to widen its product portfolio with completely new product launches that will serve key markets.
"We are looking forward to get additional models in 2021 that will fulfil the demand of our market here in the UAE," said Dreyer.
Mahindra, for instance, is very active in Formula E and developing electric powertrains that will come in the next generation of cars. Together with Mahindra, and associated design house Pininfarina, Galadari Automobiles is confident that the upcoming cars will be exciting and equipped with advanced technology.

Long-lasting partnership

According to Dreyer, Galadari Automobiles continues to enjoy a long association with Mahindra, a partnership that is built on trust and common efforts to increase the market share in the UAE.
"The Mahindra management is very supportive to provide us the right products and tools to market Mahindra vehicles in the competitive UAE marketplace," he said.
Adding to this, Mohamed Yahya Kazi Meeran, Director and Group CEO of Galadari Brothers, said: "We look forward to a continued partnership with Mahindra. On this occasion, we wish all a Happy Independence Day."
