All eyes are on Abu Dhabi as it is set to become the battlefield of Formula 1 drivers vying for this season's title with 11 teams set to compete plus a concert lineup unlike any other that is set to wow audiences.
Motoring and cinema have always walked hand in hand with hundreds of movies portraying man's love for the octane-powered metal creations and Formula One is no different. So in order to tide you over in the few days between now and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, we've rounded up five of the best racing films you'll definitely enjoy.

Rush (2013)

Chronicling the 1976 rivalry between Niki Lauda and James Hunt, Rush delivers fast paced action to the point where the audience can feel the tension between them as the film shifts from snippets of their personal lives to the battles they fought on the asphalt.
Weekend of a Champion (1972, 2013)

Originally premiered in 1972 and kept unscreened for nearly 40 years, Weekend of a Champion sees director Roman Polanski following renowned F1 driver Jackie Stewart during the 1971 season. Other than Jackie Stewart in the flesh, the film has cameo appearances of other famous figures such as Ringo Starr, Prince Rainier III and his wife Hollywood actress Grace Kelly.
Senna (2010)

The eponymous film chronicles the life of young Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna who lost his life during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix. Senna is regarded by many fans and enthusiasts as the most influential driver of all time. And you thought it was Schumacher.
Death Race (2008)

It's not a box office hit by any measure but when you have fast cars with guns attached to them film ratings and reviews don't matter than much. It also has Jason Statham as the lead star driving a rumbling Ford Mustang GT.
Cars (2006)

While not exactly a film about Formula 1, Cars tackles another genre of motorsport that is also about going fast. Enjoy this with your family and even she a tear because hey, it's Disney.
