The decision to commence CBSE curriculum in grade 11, and subsequently in grade 12 in the following year, was taken after receiving approval from the CBSE officials who carried out a detailed inspection of the infrastructure and facilities of the school recently.

A Varkey Group official told Khaleej Times that the school has been offering CBSE curriculum upto grade 9, in addition to the Kerala state board curriculum. "But, from the new academic year, we will introduce the CBSE curriculum upto grade 11, and thereafter it will be expanded upto grade 12."

"The school proposes to start the science and commerce streams for grade 11 from the new academic year and the registrations for the same has already started. The school will offer around 60 seats each, in the commerce and science streams," he pointed out. The move is aimed at providing the VIPS students to choose a curriculum of their choice. The student will also have the option to changeover from the Kerala Board syllabus to the CBSE, if he or she desires at the beginning of the academic year, the official pointed out.
