An Indian, critically injured in a recent accident that claimed seven lives and injured 35 others on Tuesday morning, has undergone a staged surgery and is being stabilised in preparation for another surgery.
"He will undergo another planned surgery in a couple of day, we are stabilising him before the second surgery," said a hospital spokesperson.
Six of the injured were admitted to New Medical Centre (NMC) Hospital. One dead body was also shifted to the hospital.
A patient, who was admitted to the High Dependency Unit (HDU), remained stable while the other four - also shifted to the ward - were being kept under observation.
"They received head injuries and are being kept under observation as a precautionary measure."
The dead and injured are from India, Bangladesh and Nepal.
Rashid Hospital, where six of the seriously injured were taken, did not provide an update on their condition.

Dr Mohaymen Abdelghani, CEO of Al Zahra Hospital said that 18 victims were taken to Al Zahra Hospital of which one person could not be resuscitated and was declared dead.
"Five of the injured - from India and Pakistan - were admitted with fractures and minor injuries and are still being kept under observation," he said, adding that they were expected to be released soon.
Twelve others with minor injuries and shock were sent back home after being given initial treatment on Tuesday.
