A man from India's Karnataka won hearts online when he quit his job and took his mother on a 48,100km tour on a scooter. The 39-year-old man also caught the attention of Indian business tycoon Anand Mahindra, who offered him a new car so that the mother-son duo can travel in a four-wheeler instead.
A video of D Krishna Kumar travelling with his mother on his 20-year-old scooter was shared by Twitter user Manoj Kumar. The short video shows the elderly woman riding pillion as she travelled to Arunachal Pradesh with her son, according to reports in The Indian Express.
The Twitter user also wrote a caption along with the footage:'This is a Gap Year I wish I had! Dakshinmurthy Krishna Kumar from Mysore left his banking job and travelled with his mom on a scooter. A total of 48,100 KMs. The reason? His mother had not stepped out of her town and he wished to show her India!'

The chairman of Mahindra Group lauded the man's gesture and asked if anyone could get him in touch with the man. Mahindra tweeted on the video: 'A beautiful story. About the love for a mother but also about the love for a country. Thank you for sharing this Manoj. If you can connect him to me, I'd like to personally gift him a Mahindra KUV 100 NXT so he can drive his mother in a car on their next journey'.
Netizens praised Mahindra for his offer and some people also shared the man's number with the industrialist. However, there were some people who pointed out that the old scooter has emotional value for the man as it belonged to his deceased father and he had refused to let go of it.
