During her recent visit to Dubai, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach decided to overcome one of her 'greatest fears' while holidaying in the emirate.
Taking to Instagram, Wurtzbach shared highlights of when she decided to go skydiving in Dubai over the weekend. In the caption, she admitted that going skydiving was a spontaneous decision: "I remember seeing people with their parachutes from the balcony of my hotel room and I thought Kung kaya nila, dapat kayanin ko rin! (If they can do it, I can too!) Why would I let myself miss out because of fear?" she wrote.
Wurtzbach also admitted that she has a fear of heights and that she always gets nervous when boarding airplanes.

Touch the sky! ?? I have a fear of heights and always get nervous in airplanes. But I woke up one day and decided it was time to conquer one of my greatest fears and it was soo worth it! I remember seeing people with their parachutes from the balcony of my hotel room and I thought "Kung kaya nila, dapat kayanin ko rin! Why would I let myself miss out because of fear?" so I just went for it! ?? A big thank you to Lynette (my instructor) and Buzz (photographer) for helping me calm my nerves before the jump. Believe it or not I was more nervous getting in the plane than actually jumping out. It's true what Will Smith said during his experience, "God put the best things in life on the other side of fear." Ahhh! I can't believe I finally did it! I can't wait to fly again! Don't let fear stop you from anything! ??????

With the help of Skydive Dubai, Pia managed to overcome her fear of flying as she jumped out of a plane overlooking the emirates' skyline. She also shared a video of her skydiving experience on her Instagram handle.
After making the dive and landing safely on the ground, Pia commented that being up in the sky felt "surreal". Wurtzbach described the sight as "the craziest, most beautiful thing I've ever seen".
The Miss Universe 2015 titleholder was in Dubai recently for a short holiday. Apart from skydiving, Pia also visited some of Dubai's most famous landmarks such as the Burj Khalifa, and the souks of Old Dubai. She also went sailing around the Palm Jumeirah.
