A cop is winning praises online after a video went viral, showing him carrying two girls on his shoulders and wading through raging waist-deep waters in a flooded Gujarat town.
As heavy rains continue to batter Gujarat, India, rescue operations are underway to save those stranded. One brave police constable, Prithiviraj Singh Jadeja, from Tankara town of Gujarat's Morbi district is touching hearts after he risked his own life to save two young girls from floodwaters.

According to reports in India Today, the girls were among 43 students who were stranded in their school building after incessant rains caused flooding around the area. The school administration sought police help and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) but raging waters made it difficult to save people with boats. That's when constable Jadeja jumped into action.
He waded through waist-deep water for around 800 metres and moved them to a safer place.

The heroic cop was lauded for his bravery by Gujarat Chief Minister, Vijay Rupani. While Additional DGP, Gujarat Police, Shamsher Singh, shared a picture and the video on Twitter and wrote: "Hamare Kandhe, Aapki Suraksha [Our shoulders, your security]. Heroic work by cop Prithiviraj Singh Jadeja in Morbi".
