For the same period last year, 22 fires were recorded according to civil defence sources in Fujairah.
The accidents this year includes 16 fires on trucks and 39 on light vehicles.
Lieutenant Colonel Ali Obaid Al Tinaiji, director general, Fujairah Civil Defense said most of the car fires took place in May.
Electrical faults, accidents and overturning leading to fuel spills in high temperatures especially in older cars were the main reasons for the mishaps, officials said.
Lieutenant Colonel Tunaiji said special attention was being given by everyone concerned to respond quickly to emergency situations throughout the year.
