US ambassador to Pakistan Ryan C. Crocker announced at a special ceremony here that the United States Agency for International Development (Usaid) and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) would coordinate to put the programme in place. The HEC chairman, Dr Attaur Rehman, and Federal Education Minister Lt Gen (retd) Javed Ashraf Qazi were also present on the occasion.

The planned expansion will make Fulbright Programme in Pakistan among the world’s largest, Crocker said, adding that the programme will enable 500-600 Pakistanis to pursue their Master’s studies in the US.
