US diplomat praises Arts Surprises activities

DUBAI - Jason Davis, US Consul General in Dubai has expressed his appreciation on the systematic manner in which the Arts Surprises theme week of the Dubai Summer Surprises 2004 has been organised by the Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD).

Mr Davis said that he witnessed the vast array of activities which were showcased as part of the theme week, during his tour around the malls in the city, including BurJuman Centre, which hosted some of the in-mall events. Accompanying him was Lt. Col. Jassim Abdul Ghafour, Head of the Arts Surprises Committee, and Captain Omar Al Shamsi, Deputy Head of the Arts Surprises Committee, and Brig. Khalfan Khalfan Abdullah, Finance Manager of the Emirates Diving Association.

The US consul general also said that the events showcased during the week were really impressive and the shopping bargains offered were lucrative.

Thanking everyone who made the Arts Surprises week such a runaway success, Lt-Col Abdul Ghafour said, "The Children's Studio, International Art Stations and the Snake Oasis received hordes of people of various age groups.
