Dubai - Anoushka Ghosh, a grade 7 student of Gems Modern Academy, participated in the 2015 Cubes in Space (CIS) Programme conducted by Nasa.
With valuable support from her school, all three of her submitted experiments got selected this year.
Her experiments were amongst the 80 experiments chosen worldwide to be sent to space in a sounding rocket (SR2).
The innovative experiments included studying the effects of space on: Soft contact lenses; battery life performance and germination potential of seeds.
Anoushka is amongst the select few students worldwide recognised by the John Hopkins University’s Centre for Talented Youth programme for scoring 99 percentile in the School and College Admission Test (SCAT) last December while she was in Grade 6.
Due to her high scores in the SCAT examination for grades 9-12 she has been invited to receive her High Honours Award in the US. She has also been selected for attending the summer course in mathematics, namely, the Inductive and Deductive Reasoning at The Stanford University. - reporters@khaleejtimes.com
