This was the common refrain of participants at a workshop on “Factors Affecting Tourism in the Arab World”. The event was organised in Tunisia by the Security and Administrative Institute of the Dubai Police Academy.

The workshop discussed the security, legal and economic aspects of tourism in the Arab world.

The workshop issued a number of recommendations to boost Arab tourism, including formulation of strategic plans to ensure safety of tourists and establishing fully-equipped crisis centres in each country under the supervision of the Arab League to face up to any challenges arising out of emergencies.

Major Ahmed Mohammed Rafee, director of the Security and Administrative Institute of Dubai Police Academy, said the Dubai Police had organised this symposium with a view to enhancing cooperation among Arab countries.
