An official of the Ministry of Interior said the aim of the proposed form was to protect motorists against criminalisation and legal complications in road accidents.

This, he pointed out, will be necessary for motorists to avoid problems when travelling from one state to another within the bloc with traces of accidents on their cars occurring in a country other than the one in which they were stopped by traffic cops for questioning.

The ministry submitted a memorandum to the General Secretariat of the GCC to issue the unified form. The form, according to the source, would be filled with details about the car entering another GCC state with dents and other traces of accidents that occurred in the country of origin. The proposed form is expected to eliminate any problem for motorists with dented cars in regional states.
