Omar Shehadeh, Unicef Regional Donor Relations Officer, has disclosed that a series of meetings would be held between representatives of the Lebanese government and the Ministry of Education to chalk out a plan to determine which schools need full reconstruction or full or partial maintenance.

“The UAE reconstruction project will cover 40 to 50 schools. A comprehensive survey is currently being conducted to commence the restoration operation, he added.

He indicated that taskforces had been working to enumerate schools and hospitals to assess the damage and decide the required assistance for each school or hospital.
