UN Global Road Safety Week from April 23

ABU DHABI — The first United Nations Global Road Safety Week, slated from April 23 to 29, will focus on young drivers, Major Jamal Al Amri, head of the Information and Public Relations Section at the General Department of Traffic has said.

To mark the beginning of the road safety week, a rally will be taken out from the Abu Dhabi corniche at 9am on April 23, which will head towards the Marina Mall in the emirate.

Representatives from the Abu Dhabi Police headquarters, school and university students, and representatives from the civil society bodies will be among those who’ll take part in the road safety week.

Major Al Amri told Khaleej times that representatives from all the countries taking part in the UN Global Road Safety Week will witness the closing ceremony of the week at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.
