UN Chief briefs UAE FM on humanitarian crisis in Horn of Africa

ABU DHABI - The UN Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-Moon, in a telephone call, briefed the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, UAE, Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the latest developments in Somalia and the humanitarian crisis in the Horn of Africa.

During the conversation, Sheikh Abdullah briefed Ki-Moon on the measures taken by the UAE upon directives from President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to confront famine in the Horn of Africa and further boost the humanitarian role the UAE plays around the world.

A UAE aid delegation will head to Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu to run humanitarian operations to deliver aid to famine victims.
