UAQ may impose 25pc tax on liquor

UMM AL QUWAIN — A 25 per cent tax is likely to be levied on liquor sales in the hotels, resorts and tourist clubs in Umm Al Quwain, reliable sources in the municipality have said.

A law is being enacted and would be issued soon, the sources said.

The imposition of the tax is expected to generate around Dh300,000 per day, they said.
