UAE’s humanitarian role in Libya hailed

TUNISIA -- Chairperson of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) mission in the Tunisian district of Gerges, Valerie Cambon has lauded the aid being provided by the UAE to the displaced Libyan people.

She appreciated the quick response of the UAE leadership to issue the directives to dispatch relief to the displaced people there.

Cambon said during her visit to Ras Gadeer Camp set up by the UAE at the Tunisian-Libyan borders to provide shelter to multinational displaced people from Libya, that the UAE has been dispatching humanitarian aid to the disaster zones worldwide, indicating that the UAE enjoys deserved international credit in this respect.

She stressed keenness of the ICRC to coordinate with the Tunisian Red Crescent Society and the UAE Red Crescent Authority in Ras Gadeer.
