DUBAI — UAE women are playing a major role in the country’s development as they are contributing to all sectors of development, Muna Al Miri, chairperson of Dubai Women Establishment (DWE) has said.
She was taking part in a meeting of DWE on Monday, which was presided by Shaikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of DWE.
The meeting was called to discuss the DWE’s plans and projects for the year 2009.
The Women Leaders Programme, which will kick off in January, as well as the activities of the First Arab Women Leaders Forum slated on January 13-14, were the main agendas of the meeting.
Hailing the achievements of the establishment, Shaikha Manal said the DWE has been effectively involved in social and leadership activities in association with several local, regional and international bodies.
She said that the policies and legislation related to women in the UAE had helped them to get professional training opportunities.
