Motorists faced significant delays during the rush hour commute on Sunday morning with accidents reported in Dubai and traffic snarls in Sharjah.
Dubai Police have issued a statement on Twitter, advising drivers to stay cautious after an accident reported on Al Rebbat Road from Al Warqaa towards Business Bay Crossing.
They advised motorists to take alternative routes to avoid delays.

According to Google Maps, an accident was reported on D83 Road near City Centre Mirdif, causing huge tailbacks towards Rebat Street.

Heavy congestion was reported on E311 Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road towards Dubai from Sharjah Industrial area towards Muhaisnah in Dubai and motorists are experiencing extremely slow moving traffic.

Slow moving traffic was also reported on the E11 route - from Sharjah to Dubai - particularly in Al Nahda, leading up to Hor Al Anz East.

Other areas in Dubai experiencing congestion include:

- E44 Road near Ras Al Khor Industrial Area
- D54 Road near Al Warqa 5
- D61 Road near Jumeirah Village Circle
- D72 Road near Springs Dubai
- E44 Road Al Awir road from Al Warqa to Ras Al Khor
- E11 Road from Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club towards Abu Dhabi
- E311 Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road near City Centre Mirdif

-D72 Road from Al Quoz 4 towards Al Khail

Motorists are advised to drive carefully and take alternative routes where possible.
