UAE to be hunting ground for heroine of Zee TV film

DUBAI - UAE will soon become the hunting ground for the heroine of a major Bollywood blockbuster Musafir produced by Sanjay Gupta and featuring Sanjay Dutt in the male lead as Zee Television conducts for the first time ever a worldwide talent competition to identify fresh talent for the Indian silver screen.

White Feather Films has joined hands with Zee TV and Qassim Recording, who will be responsible for the recording of the music of the film, to launch a worldwide hunt for the heroine of the movie. The auditioning for the Dubai leg of the competition will take place on September 11 and 12 and the finals will be held at the Grand Hyatt on September 17. The worldwide final has been slated for Mumbai on September 24.

The Musafir team is arriving in Dubai later this month for the selection of the finalist and will be available to groom contestants for the talent search. Among those who will be personally present are veteran Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor, starlet Sameera Reddy, Aditya Pancholi and Koena Mitra who will arrive for the final event in Dubai to be broadcast exclusively on Zee TV Middle East.

The competition could be a golden opportunity for a young, talented actress who is not camera shy to launch a lucrative career in Bollywood co-starring with Bollywood’s leading hero, Sanjay Dutt. The contestants can be of any nationality with and a minimum age of 18 and they need to send in a full length and close-up photograph with proof of age to Zee TV, P O Box 8009, Sharjah, UAE or e-mail to .

Eight lucky finalists will be taken through a rigorous schedule of diet, makeover, dress and choreography to help them to hone their talent as they vie for the coveted opportunity to be launched in Bollywood.

Yogesh Radhakrishnan from Zee TV, India said: “This is the first time ever, that a television channel and Bollywood have teamed up. You can expect to hear more from us as we make similar announcements in the near future.”

Rajat Kumar from Qassim Recording Company (T-Series Enterprise) explained that in addition to the action-packed evening “we have decided to break with tradition and officially launch the Musafir Music CD, besides announcing the introduction of a Musafir Lounge CD, which is an emerging trend for the music industry worldwide.”

The lucky winner and the runner-up will be selected from eight finalists in Dubai and flown to India for the international finals where they will represent Dubai and compete for a place in the limelight among 16 other contestants from different countries of the world.

The Dubai winner is guaranteed a music video by the Qassim Recording Company.

Nikhil Ferreira, Director, Max Media, media representatives for Zee TV in the Middle East added that it would be for the first time ever that the satellite television and the Indian film industry have got together for a joint initiative.
