Teams of students and management professionals from 22 countries and four continents on September 18 gathered in Sochi, Russia, to compete for the world’s largest strategy and management competition Global Management Challenge. The winners of this year’s international finals of the challenge are a team of management professionals from Russia.
In March 2014, team Desert Gurus from the online fashion store Namshi.com made history for being crowned the winners of the UAE’s first Global Management Challenge. Desert Gurus participated in the competition alongside teams from Brazil, India, Estonia and Greece.
They competed against more than 60 contenders, which included 300 participants from companies and universities around the UAE, such as DP World and American University of Dubai. Desert Gurus won the first place followed by The Simulators from Higher Colleges of Technology while Stratosphere from Masdar Institute of Technology secured the third position.
In addition, the jury selected two Emirati teams, DP World and Dubal, who were recognised for their achievement, consistency of performance and dedication throughout the competition.
