Some 50 male and female students from a number of colleges in Dubai, including Zayed University and the Higher Colleges of Technology, were selected for the summer work placements which will give them exposure to the working environment of the industry over the next two months.

The students are working in various departments within the airline, including Emirates Holidays, Airport Operations, Flight Operations, Procurement and Logistics, Customer Affairs and Service Audit and Human Resources.

Abdulaziz Al Ali, Emirates' Executive Vice-President Human Resources, said: "Emirates' career policy is to search out smart, young graduates at secondary and tertiary level for our national development programmes who will build worthwhile and productive careers within the company. The summer placement programme is a chance for the students to see if they would like to pursue a career in the aviation industry and a chance for Emirates to head-hunt those we feel will fit our stringent criteria for training." The programmes are available to holders of High School Certificates, Certificate Diplomas and HD/Bachelor degrees.
