UAE shuts down restaurant for health violations

Abu Dhabi - The restaurant ignored repeated warnings.

The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (Adafsa) issued an order to close AlSayyad Restaurant & Grill at Abu Dhabi Port for violating Law No. (2) for the year 2008 in respect of Food within the emirate of Abu Dhabi, which emphasizes on consumer protection and ensuring the food safety.

Thamer Rashed Al Qasemi, director of the communications and community services department at Adafsa, said that the shutdown order was issued after the restaurant ignored repeated warnings including not meeting the required levels of hygiene, Al Bayan reported.

He urged the public to report any health violations they might witness by contacting the Abu Dhabi Government Contact Centre on the toll-free number 800 555.
