The Abu Dhabi Police on Tuesday shared videos of dangerous driving in the emirate, warning motorists that such irresponsible driving can lead to road accidents, and result in injury and loss of lives.

Sudden changing of lanes can lead to serious traffic accidents, police said, while posting a video which showed many accidents that took place due to sudden swerving.

Additionally, Abu Dhabi Police stressed that sudden swerving is punishable by a fine of Dh1,000 and four black points.

It is important to mention that the number of traffic fatalities in the emirate during 2018 decreased from 199 to 149, while the number of major injuries declined from 149 to 120. Also, the number of fatalities per 100,000 residents also dropped from 5.72 to 4.22, while the number of major injuries per 100,000 residents dropped from 4.286 to 3.366, and the number of deaths from run-over accidents dropped by 38 per cent.
