UAE national becomes 27th DDF millionaire

DUBAI-Shahlla Ali Hussain Alsumaiti has become the second UAE national to win the Dubai Duty Free's Millennium Millionaire Promotion.

Shahlla bought her winning ticket No. 1266 from the DDF Finest surprise counter in Jumeirah Beach Hotel. Shahlla, who has been working with the Ministry of Transportation since 10 years, was overwhelmed with the windfall because this was the first time she took part in the promotion.

The draw was held yesterday at the Duty Free Shopping complex of the Dubai International Airport. The 27th Millennium Millionaire and the Finest Surprises draws was conducted by Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President, Dubai Department of Civil Aviation and Chairman of Emirates airline, with Jamal Al Hai, Director Strategy and management excellence of Dubai Department of Civil Aviation, Colm McLoughlin, DDF managing director, George Horan, DDF general manager, and Salah Tahlak, DDF senior manager - promotion and advertising.

A raffle draw for the Mercedes Benz S500 was also conducted on the occasion. Susann Siu Fong Prenzlin,a British national residing in Hong Kong, holding ticket No. 0965, won the raffle. Susann bought the ticket on her first time visit to Dubai when she attended a seminar as a representative of her company in Hong Kong.

Another lucky winner of the car is George Sayegh, a Lebanese national, who was announced winner of the Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe in Series 1080 holding ticket No. 0676. Mr Alan Malcolm, a British national from Australia, won the Harley Davidson VRSCA V-Rody with his ticket No. 0952.
