Welcoming the UAE delegation, Mr Radi expressed the hope that more exchange of visits would take place to further enhance the already flourishing ties between the two countries. He said that Morocco was proud of the role played by the President, His Highness Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, in the Gulf region, thanks to his political wisdom.

He called for an exchange of views on Palestinian and Iraqi issues in order to find just solutions for them.

Mr Radi re-affirmed Morocco's support for the UAE's sovereignty over its three islands, occupied by Iran, saying that Morocco's support for the UAE on the island issue was identical to the UAE's support for Morocco on the issue of the Western Sahara, Sebta and Melilia.

Mr Kindi said that his visit was to explore ways of strengthening relations between the two countries in various fields.

He said that UAE and Iran had strong and historical relations and that there was hope that Iran would cooperate with the UAE and return the islands to the UAE.

Mr Kindi said that the UAE was home to people from 180 countries around the world and that it meted out good treatment to all of them.

He added that the UAE was in favour of international legitimacy on all issues, including that of the Western Sahara and the UAE islands, if a peaceful solution could not be reached.
