UAE, Mongolia keen to boost cooperation

ABU DHABI — The President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, held talks here yesterday with the President of Mongolia, Nambaryn Enkhbayar, who is heading a high-level delegation on a visit to the UAE.

General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, was present at the talks which were held at Al Mushrif Palace in the afternoon.

Prior to the talks, Shaikh Khalifa welcomed the Mongolian President and the accompanying delegation and wished them a successful visit which will contribute to the bilateral relations between the UAE and Mongolia.

They reviewed the existing friendly relations and expanding cooperation between the two countries and discussed ways of taking them into wider horizons serving their joint interests.

They also stressed the need for boosting the ties, creating more opportunities of partnership in the fields of economy, investment and tourism.

They also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The Mongolian President expressed his happiness over the opportunity to visit the UAE and meet Shaikh Khalifa, reiterating his country’s keenness on strengthening relations with the UAE.

Enkhbayar pointed out that the great strides taken by the UAE in various fields had made it one among the most progressive countries in the world, thanks to the wise leadership of Shaikh Khalifa.

He also thanked the President for the warm welcome accorded to him and his delegation, and added that his visit reflected the keenness of the leaders of both the countries in building bridges of cooperation and partnership benefiting the two nations.

Shaikh Khalifa held a lunch banquet in honour of the visiting dignitary and his delegation.

The meeting and the banquet were also attended by Speaker of Federal National Council (FNC) Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al Ghurair, Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region Shaikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior Lt Gen Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed Foundation for Humanitarian and Charitable Works Shaikh Ahmed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and a number of Shaikhs, ministers and senior military and civilian officials.

Enkhbayar was given a formal state welcome upon his arrival at Al Mushrif Palace where the national anthem of Mongolia was played.

Later, Shaikh Khalifa accompanied him to the main hall of the palace where the visiting dignitary shook hands with Shaikhs, ministers and senior military officers and prominent citizens.
