In a statement released today to mark the event, the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works (ZFCHW) said the country assumes a leading role in providing decent living standards to the citizens and residents, as well as easing the suffering of the underprivileged around the world.

“The noble initiatives undertaken by the UAE in humanitarian fields are a source of pride to every Emirati citizen,” said Ahmed Shabib Al Dhaheri, Director General of the ZFCHW.

Al Dhaheri paid tribute to the rich legacy of humanitarian work left by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and continued by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

He underlined the call made recently by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region to international community to shoulder its full responsibility to alleviate poverty, hunger and the suffering of the increasing number underprivileged people in hot spots worldwide.

Al Dhaheri said the ZFCHW will continue its endeavours toi further boost humanitarian works, under the directives of Shaikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Shaikh Omer bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Board.
