On the occasion of the World Environment Day being observed today, he said, “The problem of deforestation has become a worldwide issue where the hazardous phenomenon is related to the shortage of nutrients and man has proved time and again to have abused the environment for a long time.”

“It is not impossible for humans to overcome this critical problem. The UAE under the leadership of the late president Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan has taken the initiative by reclaiming and cultivating barren lands correcting environmental balance,” the minister observed.

“The whole country has been surrounded by plants, trees, and green sieges,” he said, adding, “the UAE’s experiment in this regard should be hailed, and replicated. It is a great model for other countries to follow.”
