UAE harvests ATO awards

ABU DHABI - UAE’s penchant for finding a meticulous reconciliation between modern development and traditional sustainability was acclaimed at the Arab Town Organisation (ATO) meeting which recently concluded its tenth session in Doha, Qatar.

ATO’s Arbitration Authority chose UAE for five prestigious awards from among total of115 nominations in various categories from around the Arab world.

As the awards were announced Abu Dhabi and Dubai went away with the five awards. Abu Dhabi won the awards in two major categories that included ‘Greening the City’ and the ‘Environmental Awareness’. The National Falcon Centre of Dubai bagged the second prize in the most beautiful architectural project category.

The other two awards went to Emad Saad of Abu Dhabi Municipality and to Rashad Bukhash of Dubai Municipality. Engineer Saad won the second prize as the protagonist for the cause of environment while Engineer Bukhash won the second prize in the best architect category. In these two categories the first prizes were withheld.
