UAE envoy receives ministers

BEIRUT — The UAE Ambassador to Lebanon, Mohammed Sultan Saif Al Suwaidi, separately met here yesterday with three Lebanese ministers and discussed with them avenues of cooperation in various fields between the UAE and Lebanon.

The ministers include Minister of Social Affairs Naela Muawwadh, Energy Minister Mohammed Fneish and Economy Minister Sami Haddad.

Al Suwaidi said discussions during the meeting with the Lebanese social affairs minister, centred on the unique relations between the UAE and Lebanon, adding that they also reviewed some important projects that could be executed for the Lebanese people. He reiterated the UAE’s readiness to provide the necessary assistance to Lebanon.

The Lebanese minister, for her part, reiterated the strong ties between the UAE and Lebanon. She commended the UAE for its human and economic development, which she attributed to the vision of the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the wise leadership of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

She also commended the UAE for taking good care of the Lebanese communities in the country and expressed the hope for further cooperation between the two countries.
