Dr Amna Al Dahak has stated that the National Committee for Food Safety has partially approved the ban already
The minister said this yesterday while touring a construction site of Ascon Company. He was there to inspect the company's compliance with the government's midday break rule that is applicable for companies in the UAE's hottest months of July and August.
Dr Al Kaabi also distributed cold water bottles, refreshment snacks and some clothes among workers on the occasion. He was accompanied by Humaid bin Demas, assistant under-secretary at the Ministry of Labour (MoL) and Maher Al Oubad, director of Inspection Department in Dubai.
The minister said: "The midday break rule comes in line with the directives of our leadership that considers the rights of labourers as a top priority. The rule should be applied for all labourers whether in the private or public sector, especially for those working in the open."
Dr Al Kaabi urged all companies to comply with the midday break rule considering its humanitarian aspect.
"The midday break rule is a message of gratitude for the labourers who have built this country with their hands," the minister said.
