This donation, he added, will help ease the suffering of Iraqi refugees and alleviate some of the burden being shouldered by host countries such as Syria. Gubartalla also referred to a Press statement released by UNHCR headquarters in Geneva yesterday in which the UN agency expressed gratitude to the President and the people of the UAE for this timely contribution, being evidence of an enhanced humanitarian partnership and of humanitarian solidarity within the region.

Gubartalla said the High Commissioner, Antonio Guterres, is sending a message of thanks and appreciation to Shaikh Khalifa in appreciation of this donation.
