US equity futures and Asian shares declined while safe haven demand lifted US Treasuries
Sao Paulo — The Consulate General of the UAE in Sao Paolo has launched an Iftar project sponsored by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation in coordination with the local government, municipality and Federation of Muslims Association in Brazil.
The charity project will see some Iftar meals provided by the foundation for mass Iftar banquets during the month of Ramadan at 17 mosques across Sao Paulo state. It is part of the UAE humanitarian agency’s international efforts to help fasting people and limited-income people in more than 56 countries and promote compassion among people in line with the teachings of Islam.
At a meeting, Saleh Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Consul-General of the UAE in Sao Paulo, who is overseeing the project, briefed the imams of mosques and Muslim centres on the activities of the UAE’s Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation. He noted that the UAE remains at the forefront of philanthropic and charity work. — Wam
