The UAE stance vis-a-vis Palestine was renewed here yesterday in a meeting between the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Palestinian Prime Minister Dr Salam Fayadh.

“The UAE Government and people are concerned over the plight of the Palestinian people, who are reeling under a cruel occupation and blockade,” said Shaikh Khalifa, following a briefing on the Palestinian situation by Prime Minister Fayadh.

The Palestinian official expressed thanks to the UAE leadership and people for their sustained commitment to help Palestine.

“The help that our brothers in the UAE have been providing to the Palestinians over the years has made a huge impact on the well-being of the Palestinian people. This is not to mention the political support that we have had for so long, and which has kept our cause alive internationally,” said Dr Fayadh.

Present at the meeting were Shaikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister; General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; Shaikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser; Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs; and Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, in addition to other senior officials.
