Two new specialist sections for kids opened at Dubai Hospital

DUBAI — The Dubai Health Authority has introduced new therapeutic services in the Pediatric Section of Dubai Hospital. Two new departments — Paediatric Cardio and Respiratory Diseases have been created.

Dr Hussein Abdulrahman, Acting Director of Dubai Hospital, said that the DHA has also appointed the first two UAE physicians competent in paediatric heart and respiratory diseases.

The doctors are Dr Ahmed Mohamad Al Kamali, consultant doctor in paediatric heart diseases and Dr Anwar Wagdi, graduate from College Ireland Royal Surgeon holding Canadian board in paediatric, and Royal Canadian College fellowship in paediatric respiratory diseases.

Dr Kamali stated that the hospital, after setting up the paediatric cardiology section, will also introduce paediatric diagnosis therapeutic services, cardiotography (CTG), cardiac catheterisation (in case of heart deformities) and placing of endoplastic stents (in place of performing an open-heart surgery).

Dr Al Kamali added that the section will also conduct medical interventions for emergency cases of neonates and premature babies and children in general.

Dr Anwar Wagdi said that the paediatric section will introduce paediatric diagnostic therapeutic services to those who suffer from asthma as well as other respiratory diseases.
