Two more months in jail to thief for lying

FUJAIRAH — The Fujairah Court of Appeal recently upheld the verdict of the Fujairah Court of First Instance which had sentenced a 29-year-old Bangladeshi, M.N., to three more months in jail for stealing, and gave him another two months’ imprisonment for giving incorrect information about his name while standing trial.

The accused was arrested for allegedly stealing and the Court of First Instance had ordered him to serve three months in prison.

He appealed the verdict and in the process of his trial, he gave the judge false information regarding his name, as he changed the name of his father.

When the court came to know that the information he had given was incorrect, it upheld the judgment of the lower court and ordered him to serve three months in jail for stealing and another two months in jail for giving false information.
