The development of the project, which is expected to be completed in 10 months, will coincide with the completion of the under-construction fourth crossing, which aims to link Deira with Bur Dubai over Ras Al Khor. The bridge over the creek consists of six lanes with a width of 30 metres towards Bur Dubai and seven lanes with a width of 33.7 meters towards Al Rabat Road in Deira.

Maitha bin Adi, Director of Roads at the RTA, said that the Authority is continuing its commitment to develop and improve roads across Dubai to ease traffic flow. “The construction of this bridge at the Wimpy Al Futtaim Interchange will considerably minimise travel time from Al Aweer Road and Nad Al Hamr,” she said.

Bin Adi explained that by the time the project is completed, work on the construction of a new highway starting from Al Khail Road in the South passing through Al Aweer and Nad Al Hamr to the Airport Tunnel in the North would begin.

The strategic project is a part of the integrated projects that the RTA is developing to provide smooth and safe transport.
